Time to Relocate? 3 Reasons to Have Your Vehicles Shipped

Blog

If it's time to relocate, then you need to get your moving plans in order. One issue that you need to consider is how you'll get your cars to your new location. If you want to make your relocation easier, talk to a transportation brokerage service about shipping your cars. A transportation brokerage service will arrange to have your car picked up and shipped to your new home. Here are just three of the reasons why shipping your car is your best option.

Less Wear and Tear on Your Car

If you're planning a cross country relocation and you don't want to add unnecessary mileage to your car, it's time to arrange for shipping. Driving your car cross country can rack up a lot of miles on your car. Unfortunately, those extra miles can reduce the resale value of your car. Not only that, but your cross-country trip will increase the wear and tear on the engine and transmission. If you want to keep the wear and tear to a minimum, have your car shipped to your new location.

Eliminate the Need for Towing

If you plan to take care of your own move and you'll be driving the moving truck, think about the towing. Your car will need to be towed behind the moving truck, which isn't always the safest option, for you or for your car. First, unless you can afford a flatbed trailer, you'll need to use a portable tow hitch, which can cause damage to your car. Second, towing a car behind your rental truck will add to the weight, which will decrease your gas mileage. Not only that, but you won't get as much power going up those steep inclines. Eliminate the need for towing by having your car shipped instead.

Avoid Driving Multiple Cars

If you're a multi-car family, you'll need to arrange transportation for both your cars. Even if you tow one of them behind the moving truck, you'll still have one unaccounted for, which means someone will need to drive it. Unfortunately, that means you'll need to make additional stops along the way since you and the other driver will need to take rest breaks. However, when you tow the extra vehicles, you and your partner can take turns driving, which means you'll arrive at your destination sooner.

Don't get stuck with vehicle hassles during your cross-country relocation. Contact a transportation brokerage service near you and arrange to have your cars shipped instead.

Learning About Various Types Of Transportation

Hello, my name is Denver and this blog was created due to my fascination with various types of transportation. It all started when I was a child and I received my first train set for my birthday. As I got older, I also became interested in the big semi trucks that I would see on the highways while traveling with my family. It didn't stop there, I then became mesmerized by airplanes and helicopters. The subway system and monorails were next on my list of interests. I would constantly read books and try to find out additional information about all the different kinds of transportation. Because of this early obsession of mine, I am very knowledgeable about this subject. If you would like to learn about the various modes of transportation, I invite you to read my blog and to enjoy the information that I've gathered together.
